The return window
- Store purchases: return with your register receipt within 30 days for an exchange or a refund to your original payment.
- After 30 days, with a gift receipt, or without a receipt, you get merchandise credit only. Non-receipted returns need a government photo ID.
- Online orders: 40 days from your order date, unless your shipping confirmation email says otherwise.
Holiday returns (2026)
- Store purchases made October 4 – December 24, 2026: returnable through January 25, 2027.
- Online purchases made October 4 – December 24, 2026: returnable through February 4, 2027.
- Gift returns with a receipt get store credit.
Where to return & fees
- Returns are free in store. Mail returns cost $11.99 per package, taken out of your refund, and must reach the warehouse within 40 days of your order date.
- TJ Maxx items go back to TJ Maxx only — not Marshalls or other sister stores.
Good to know
- Used, worn or unsellable items aren't accepted. Swimwear and intimates need their tickets attached.
- Paid by check? Cash refunds need a 10-day wait from purchase.
