The return window
- Most new or gently used products can be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date for a refund to your original form of payment.
- Returns made 31–60 days after the original purchase date get a merchandise credit instead.
- Returns must include all original components.
Receipts & ID
- Proof of purchase is required unless Ulta can verify the purchase in its system.
- Ulta requires a government-issued physical ID plus a phone number or email for any return, and may limit returns it suspects are abusive.
- With a gift receipt (within 60 days), you can exchange for a product of equal or lesser value or get merchandise credit.
Can't be returned
- Gift cards, wigs and hair extensions bought through an Ulta Beauty salon, and intimate wellness devices.
- Mini capsules must be unopened and sealed to be returned.
Mail returns & refund timing
- Ulta.com orders can be returned in store or by mail. By mail, you pay the return shipping.
- Paid with an Ulta gift card? The refund comes back as a new Ulta gift card.
- Card refunds can take 7–10 days to show up after your refund email.
